NOW BOOKING EARLY 2025
In 2002, when visiting my dear friend and colleague, Randall Stuart, in the Bay area, he took me to see Laurie Strawn perform her one woman show, "Brave Little Nell: The Eleanor Roosevelt Story." I was enthralled! By the end of Laurie's performance, I felt like my new best friend was the Being known as Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt. Or as her beloved father used to call her "Little Nell." Brave Little Nell because it took such courage for her to face the degree of grief and fear and shyness she felt from the time she was a very little girl.
Upon meeting Laurie after her performance, she very graciously offered her piece for me to perform in Southern California. I jumped at the chance! I submitted the piece to Enrichment Works, they loved it and said "Yes!" to producing it. My dear friend Randall, who took me to see Laurie in the first place, was flown to LA in order to be the Director of my rendition. I had the absolute pleasure of performing "Brave Little Nell" for several years culminating with the opportunity to perform within the Solo Festival at The Whitefire Theatre in Los Angeles.
I now take great delight in sharing this beautiful piece of theatre with corporations, colleges, churches, synagogues, nursing homes, libraries, private events, etc!
Researching and getting to know Eleanor intimately has been one of the greatest perks of my career. It is a supreme honor to embody her and I will be forever grateful for Laurie Strawn for creating this piece, And to Randall Stuart for not only directing me but for taking me to see it in the first place!
Eleanor was of service to all those around her from a very young age and then, for all the days of her life.. I greatly admire her strength of character, her wisdom, her compassion , her courage and resilience, her ability to disregard the opinions of others out of a moral obligation to far more important matters. And most of all, I admire her tireless dedication to ensure human rights and dignity for all.
